Curator Lecture: Anders Kold, Louisiana.
In the first of a series of new curatorial lectures, Davids Samling invites you to a meeting with one of the great masters of Danish art history: Jens Juel.
Anders Kold, curator at Louisiana, is a knowledgeable disseminator of Danish and international art. Drawing on his long-standing love for Jens Juel's art, he unfolds the artist's life and work. The lecture gives insight into Juel's particular view of man, his psychological finesse and ability to reconcile elegance, presence and the ideals of the Enlightenment.
How did Jens Juel create portraits that still seem alive today? What characterizes his artistic method and what role did he play in his time — both artistically and socially?
