The Mongols were a nomadic people who, under Genghis Khan, built up a vast kingdom from China to the Middle East. Under his grandson Hülegü Khan, Baghdad was conquered and destroyed in 1258, but the advance of the Mongols was halted by the Mamluks at Ayn Jalut in 1260.
Hülegü founded the Il-Khanate in Iran and Iraq, where, after the violent conquests, a period of cultural flourishing followed. The Mongol rulers took over local traditions, converted to Islam, and supported art and architecture, which united Persian and Chinese elements in the form of colorful tiles, costly metalwork, and new decorative motifs such as lotus flowers, phoenixes and dragons.
1 - 4 tickets can be booked per person.
If the meeting time is later than 10 minutes before the start of the tour, your reserved seat will be released.
